About Somayra Mamsa

Somayra is a PhD candidate in biochemistry, Yale bioethics alumna, and Westpac Future Leaders Scholar. Her doctoral research is focused on understanding how advanced age affects the molecular composition of blood vessels in the brain, and how these changes can increase our risk for developing neurodegenerative disease. She is also a passionate STEM educator, having taught and mentored hundreds of students through numerous organisations including She Codes Australia, Code Camp, Scitech, and the BioDiscovery Centre.
