About Shalini Saldanha

Shalini is currently the Information Systems and Technology Lead for Rio Tinto’s proposed Koodaideri mine, following a number of engineering, operational and corporate roles in Western Australia’s mining industry. Leveraging her very positive mindset, she overcomes business challenges by identifying opportunities within her role, establishing processes, building teams and engaging stakeholders to believe the change is possible. Shalini is a strong advocate for achieving increased diversity in STEM roles. She actively promotes engineering as a diverse and rewarding career choice through mentoring and inspiring students, undergraduate and young professionals via Engineers Australia, University of Western Australia and her workplace. A Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia, she was appointed to the WA Division Committee in 2018.
