Dr Rebecca Handcock is an experienced Spatial Data Scientist with a PhD from the University of Toronto. She specialises in making sense of data, finding patterns, and communicating the stories the data tells. Rebecca’s research ranges from using remote sensing and sensor networks to monitor agriculture and water, to recent projects focusing on health, research evaluation and bibliometrics. She has held various roles within CSIRO and the academic sector including a research fellowship at the University of Washington. Rebecca currently works for the Curtin Institute for Computation as a Senior Data Scientist. Her role focuses on designing and implementing data analytics and visualisation of large datasets and translating between the technical and applied sides of projects
