Innovative, vibrant and fearless, Paola Magni is a forensic scientist using nature and technology to solve the evilest of crimes. Known as “The Bug Whisperer”, she is the secret weapon prosecutors and defenders turn to when investigating complex homicides, suspicious deaths and cold cases. Paola inspired the creation of a character on “RIS Delitti Imperfetti” – the Italian version of TV’s Crime Scene Investigation. Her SmartInsects app, designed to assist the work of law enforcement agencies and crime scene pathologists, has been downloaded more than 40,000 times.
Beside her forensic biology research, Paola is currently using cutting-edge virtual reality to train the next generation of forensic scientists in crime scene investigation.
