Miriam is currently the sole female leader in a mining team of over 300 at Australia’s largest fully integrated, pit-to-port magnetite mining, processing and export megaproject, Sino Iron. In her three short years with CITIC Pacific Mining, Miriam has led the onsite digitisation of Sino Iron’s mining fleet management, revolutionising the team’s ability to make real time, data-focused decisions.
Introducing this new system provided Miriam the opportunity to create internal career development opportunities for others. Rather than recruit externally, Miriam recruited six internal candidates for training and mentoring to take on the newly created ‘Mine Controller’ roles, four women and two men.
Miriam is a strong leader in CPM’s workforce who champions new technologies and innovation in mining.
