Starting her career as an exploration and mine geologist, Hillary quickly turned into a serial entrepreneur. Through a series of start-ups, she has focussed on tackling business and industry challenges, helping to get new technology into the hands of people who really need it across the mining industry. In 2017 Hilary started the Perth Machine Learning Group to build a community of machine learners that teach, learn and share together. She has grown this community to over 400 people, gained sponsorship from major WA businesses and demonstrated that the skills learned through the group are impacting local businesses bottom lines. Hilary also set up and ran Perth’s sold-out inaugural Women in Machine Learning Workshop to encourage more women to get involved in the field and provide them with an easy access point.
