About Clare Offner

Clare has worked in the West Australian iron ore industry for the last 18 years for both major and junior companies. A mining engineer by trade with a masters in geotechnical engineering, Clare followed a traditional career route through operational and technical services management roles until an opportunity to join Rio Tinto’s Mine of The Future program presented itself in 2015. Since that time, Clare has been in the front row of the iron ore industry’s embracing of the new opportunities that advances in technology, automation and data science provide. She has a particular interest in linking data science and machine learning techniques to improve productivity and making the working lives of front line technical teams better.
