The WiTWA Tech [+] Awards recognise the people shaping a more inclusive, diverse, and future-ready tech sector in WA. If you are considering a nomination or supporting someone else to be recognised, this workshop will help you take the next step with more clarity and confidence.
We know writing an award nomination can feel uncomfortable. It can be hard to talk about your achievements, choose the right category, or turn meaningful work into a clear and compelling submission. Write & Shine is designed to help you move through that process with practical guidance and a stronger sense of what your story is worth.
This session will feature guest facilitators and past winners who will share their experience, learnings, and advice to help you:
- Cover the basics:Â get familiar with the Tech [+] Awards categories, eligibility criteria, nomination process, and key dates.
- Find your hook:Â identify the story behind your work, your leadership, your advocacy, your innovation, or your impact.
- Build confidence:Â move past the discomfort of self-promotion and recognise the value of what you have contributed.
- Improve your writing:Â learn how to structure your submission, make your responses more concise, and remove the gobbledygook.
- Meet the deadline:Â organise your thoughts, plan your time, and prepare a polished nomination before submissions close
The Awards exist to bring visibility to the work, leadership, and impact of women and allies across WA’s Tech [+] community. This workshop is here to help more people step forward, tell their story well, and be part of that recognition.
