Shayla is an enthusiastic and motivated penultimate year undergraduate student with experience in the Engineering/Data Science space (in particular machine learning and acoustic data analysis).
For three years, Shayla has mentored groups of engineering students to help them successfully transition to university life, as part of the New to Curtin Mentor program. She values giving back by sharing her knowledge and providing encouraging support to others. In particular, Shayla values inspiring women to pursue careers in STEM and has Mentored at programming workshops such as She Codes Australia and Girls Programming Network.
In her spare time, Shayla enjoys hiking, bouldering and even pole dancing!
