After obtaining her PhD in Mathematical Analysis at the prestigious International School for Advanced Studies, Serena travelled the world as a professional mathematician. After several job experiences in Chile, Scotland, Germany, Italy, and Victoria, she settled in Perth.
She is very passionate about mathematics and science and she likes to push her own personal and professional boundaries as well as to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge.
Serena is well-known in the scientific community as a world-leader in the field of partial differential equations, with applications to ethology, neurology, cristallography and physics.
Serena is committed to inclusion and diversity, encouraging young people, especially girls to consider careers in STEM, and mentoring them in the whole course of their careers.
