About Samantha Lodge

Work history on LinkedIn

Sam went to university and achieved a first-class honours degree in Biomedical science and a PhD in Protein biochemistry. In 2019 she made the move to Perth from the UK with her young family to become the NMR manager and subsequently Senior Lecturer in NMR within the Australian National Phenome Centre (ANPC). Since the start of the emerging COVID-19 pandemic, Sam has led the NMR team in ground-breaking research to understand the metabolic effects of the disease. This research has resulted in multiple publications and a patented biomarker panel for diagnosis, severity, and recovery from COVID-19. She is a strong advocate for making science and medical research more widely accessible and for building capacity in STEM subjects.
