Rebecca Handcock is a Spatial Data Scientist with a PhD in Geography. She specialises in making sense of data, finding patterns, and communicating the stories the data tells. Rebecca’s broad research interests range from using satellite remote sensing and sensor networks to monitor agriculture and water, to using big data to study diversity in research publication patterns. She has held research positions within CSIRO and the academic sector and currently works as a Senior Data Scientist. Her role focuses on data analytics and visualisation of large datasets, translating between the technical and applied sides of projects, and bridging the gap between STEMM and HASS. She is enthusiastic about support and mentorship for women in STEMM disciplines.
