Our next Techtrails will be part of the 2016 WA Science Week, Perth Science Festival
We will be participating in the 2016 Perth Science Festival by hosting a techtrails on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th of August 2016. National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology. Running each year in August, it features more than 1,000 events around Australia, including those delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres. Over one million people participate in science events across the nation. Last year WA’s Perth Science Festival held as part of the national program, attracted 26,000 visitors over the course of the weekend to the Perth Cultural Centre.
As the leading voice for women in Technology in WA, our work encourages diversity and supports women and young people in technology and science. A key WiTWA program delivered annually to achieve this goal is it’s techtrails careers showcase: a STEM program designed to encourage young people to consider careers in technology by providing an interactive showcase of diverse industry speakers who apply technology, science, mathematics and engineering in their daily work.
This year WiTWA will bring techtrails to the 2016 Perth Science Festival by hosting a large marquee to demonstrate the work of 25 prominent STEM professionals to students, their families and the wider community and the important role science, technology, engineering, mathematics and innovation play in modern workplaces and future career choices. Bring your family, kids and friends, and make sure to say hello to our presenters, volunteers and supporters at the WiTWA Marquee! Look for us outside the Urban Orchard at the Perth Cultural Centre, Perth WA.
