Does Gender Play a Role in Innovation?

This after-hours session was held on the 18 of August at Scitech Discovery Centre. Professor Lyn Beazley, a great supporter of WITWA and its techtrails program – she is its patron -  enlightened and entertained an audience of about 35 people with amazing stories of the many women in WA who have made major contributions to innovation in the fields of medicine, biology and technology. The stories were both heartening and inspirational. A lively discussion ensued at the end about how we can encourage more children to choose science and technology careers and how we can encourage women to push the boundaries in their field.

Lyn, as always, spruiked WITWA’s techtrails initiative as a great program to support, since it is exactly the kind of program that focussed on encouraging youth into these careers.
