WA, are thrilled to announce their final event of the year. With seasonal cheer and good humour firmly in mind, we present an expert panel reviewing 2009 and giving predictions for 2010. Discussing social policy, the economy and politics, our luncheon at Matilda Bay Restaurant will inform and provoke lively discussion. ![]() | Dana Mason is the Manager of CCI Economics, and a Senior Economist at CCI, a position she has held since October 2008. Dana completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction at Curtin University of Technology with majors in Economics and Commercial Law. Dana has also completed the Economics Honours Program, where she attained a First Class result. Dana was previously employed by the Department of Treasury and Finance where she worked in various roles, primarily in the Agency Resources Division. This role involved policy analysis and budget management for a portfolio of Government agencies. As part of her role, Dana manages the production and development CCI’s key economic publications that form part of the Economic Compass service. Dana is also involved with survey analysis, including the preparation of the quarterly Commonwealth Bank – CCI Survey of Business Expectations, and Curtin Business School-CCI Survey of Consumer Confidence. |
![]() | Anne Bellamy heads the CCI Safety and Social Policy Unit established in July 2009. Anne has responsibility for policy areas such as health, community, disability services, aged care, occupational safety and health, security and workers’ compensation. During her long and direct involvement in occupational safety and health and workers’ compensation policy Anne has represented employer interests in a number of national and state Commissions and Councils and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) since the late eighties. Anne represents the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Australian employers on Safe Work Australia, the agency developing the OHS national harmonisation legislative package. Social policy is of particular interest and has resulted in increasing involvement in state government and non-government social and community groups. |
![]() | Senator Scott Ludlam – is Australian Greens Senator for Western Australia. Elected in November 2007, Senator Ludlam is the fifth Greens Senator for Western Australia and currently shares the balance of power in the Senate with four other Greens and two independent Senators. He is the Australian Greens' spokesperson for Broadband, Communications & the Digital Economy, and has been in the thick of the debate on the National Broadband Network, the restructuring of Telstra and the proposal for internet filtering. A peace and environmental activist, Senator Ludlam has campaigned for a nuclear-free Australia and nuclear-free world, Aboriginal land rights, energy market reform, against military bases, for action on climate change and on trade and globalisation issues. A film maker, artist and graphic designer by trade, Senator Ludlam created a compelling 30-minute documentary in 2007 on why nuclear energy is not the solution to climate change, titled ‘Climate of Hope'. Recognising Australia's need to switch to a low carbon economy, Senator Ludlam aims to ensure that all Western Australians benefit from the jobs and wealth created through harnessing our renewable resources and building sustainable communities. |
