Abstract:
Effective project
management remains a critical element in service delivery. Acting
Superintendent Lance Martin of the Western Australia Police will
address the topic 'Maximising service delivery through effective
Project Management' through the specific lens of the Western Australia
Police providing insight into the many projects he manages at a
programme level, including streams of work, delivering police
operations, communication and emergency management services.
Speaker Biography:
Lance Martin
Acting
Superintendent Martin has 25 years of extensive front line policing
experience in a range of operational and support roles including Police
operations, communications and emergency management.
He currently holds the position of Program Director for the Communications Infrastructure Program, incorporating:
• State wide radio communications
• The Police Metropolitan Radio Network project
• The Communications Business Continuity /Disaster Recovery Facility
• Supplementary Network
As
the Program Director, he manages and coordinates the activities of
sworn, police staff and contract personnel in working with government
departments and private commercial interests. Current responsibilities
include:
• Management of multiple communications related projects.
• Developing and maintaining a partnership approach with vendors.
•
Maintaining effective management, governance and probity using project
disciplines and Gateway review methodology to meet government
expectations.
• Project reporting to program governance
committees including WAPOL executive management, Department of Treasury
and Finance, and other government departments.
